Setting the IP Address of the Agilent ICP-OES

This is only necessary when you need to change or reenter the default IP address.

I cannot remember my Web Utility password or my instrument IP address.

Updating the ICP-OES IP Address when on a Network

The default network settings of the Agilent ICP-OES are as follows:

Host Name

Defaults to the instrument serial number

Allocation

Static

IP Address

192.168.1.128

Network Mask

255.255.255.0

Gateway

0.0.0.0

The Agilent ICP-OES Web Utility is an application that allows you to perform configuration operations such as setting and restoring the IP address for the ICP-OES. Follow the steps below to change the IP address settings for your ICP-OES:

  1. Ensure that the ICP-OES is idle.
  2. Start your web browser on a PC that is on the same LAN segment as the ICP-OES.
  3. Enter the current ICP-OES IP address into the address bar to open the ICP-OES Web Utility, for example http://192.168.1.128.
  4. Click Edit Network Configuration.
  5. Change the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and/or Default Gateway as necessary.
  6. If the Enter Password dialog box appears, enter the password, and then click OK.

The default user name is admin and the password is Password.

  1. Restart the instrument for the new settings to take effect. A message will appear prompting this action.

Depending on the new settings, after you have changed the IP configuration, your computer may lose connectivity to the ICP-OES the first time it tries to connect, and the web browser session will no longer respond. You may need to reenter the new IP address into the address bar of Internet Explorer.

Changing the Web Utility Password

To change the password:

  1. Click Security.
  2. Enter the current username and password and then click OK.
  3. Enter the old password and the new password (twice) and then click Apply.
