Enable Worksheet Options

The Configuration page of the worksheet is where you enable features and hardware to use in a worksheet.

Open a new or existing worksheet to access this page. If data is present on an existing worksheet, you will not be able to select most of these items.

Lock and Save

Select to automatically lock and save the worksheet. This will make the worksheet read-only, preventing any changes to method parameters or the worksheet being used for additional data collection.

Deselect Lock and Save to unlock the worksheet.

A locked worksheet cannot be modified, run or saved. Locking is not available until a worksheet has been initially saved.

Enable IEC

Select this check box to enable Inter-Element Correction (IEC) to correct for spectral interferences. 'IEC' will appear in the worksheet page navigation panel.

Show me how to set up and run a method with IEC.

Enable QC

Select this check box if you would like to monitor the quality of your analytical data during a run. 'QC' will appear in the worksheet page navigation panel.

Show me how to setup and run a method with QC.

Enable Expanded QC

This option is found in File > Options > Expanded QC.

Enabling expanded QC allows you to use custom, USP, and ICH compliant QC definitions on the QC page.

Enable IntelliQuant

This is on by default.

Show me how to set up an IntelliQuant Analysis or perform an IntelliQuant Calibration.

Autosampler

Select to use an autosampler to introduce samples. Select the autosampler or accessory type on the File > Options > General tab.

Show me how to enable and configure my autosampler.

Enabling Accessories

Enable your SVS 1, AVS 4, AVS 6/7*, Advanced Dilution System 2 (ADS 2), or ESI PrepFAST accessory. The options shown here are based on the hardware connected to your ICP-OES and what you have selected in File > Options > General.

To enable these accessories:

  1. Open a worksheet.
  2. Click Configuration.
  3. Select Autosampler.
  4. Choose the accessory from the drop-down menu.

*The AVS 6/7, ADS 2, and ESI PrepFAST options are only available in the ICP Expert Pro feature pack.

ADS 2 or PrepFAST Dilution List

After selecting ADS 2 or ESI PrepFAST, the Dilution List option can be enabled.

This option is only available in the ICP Expert Pro feature pack.

Oxygen Injection

Select to enable oxygen injection. Oxygen injection is recommended when analyzing organic solutions. The oxygen facilitates the analysis of volatile organics by stabilizing the plasma when aspirating high vapor pressure organic solutions.

This feature is only available when using ICP Expert Pro.

Custom Replicates

Select to enable custom replicates to be used for the open worksheet. Custom replicate counts for Blank, Standards, QC solutions, and Samples are specified on the Conditions page.

This feature is only available when using ICP Expert Pro.

Show me how to use custom replicates.

Enable IsoMist

  1. Open a worksheet.
  2. Click Configuration.
  3. Select to enable the ICP Expert software to control the temperature when you are using an IsoMist Programmable Temperature Spray Chamber.
  4. Enter the required temperature on the Conditions page.

Click here for more information about the IsoMist Programmable Temperature Spray Chamber.

Enable Drift Correction

This is a regular monitoring process to correct for any wavelength drift due to varying environmental factors such as temperature and pressure. It involves monitoring the positions of one or more argon, carbon or other user specified element wavelengths in the plasma during sample uptake. Data collected suggests that monitoring one argon line is adequate to correct any wavelength drift to better than ±0.1 pixel. The pixel offset derived from monitoring is used to offset the wavelengths used when displaying and analyzing spectra.

  1. Open a worksheet.
  2. Click Configuration.
  3. Select to use the specified lines as a reference point when performing a drift correction.
  4. Select the required peak lines to be tracked.

Drift correction measurements are taken on completion of the rinse cycle.

You may wish to clear this if you are analyzing samples that may interfere with the selected lines, particularly if you are not using an autosampler.

How do I add more lines?
